Children and Youth

Children and youth are an important part of life at First Church Amherst. Kids of all ages are encouraged to participate in Sunday morning activities, whether that’s nursery for the youngest ones, Sunday School for the elementary school kids, or “Sermon Take-away” for the middle and high school set.

The First Church Youth Group, for middle and high school students, meets monthly for dinner and discussion on thematic topics, as well as at other times for service projects and fun activities.

Youth Exploring Spirituality (YES) is our occasional program for high school kids interested in exploring questions of faith and considering formal membership in the church.

In addition to these weekly and monthly activities for kids, we have many special events for them and their families throughout the year. They include the Family Camp-Out in September, the Family Advent Party, the Christmas Eve Pageant, the Cape Cod Family Retreat in June, and a week-long community service trip during the summer.
