The Peace-builders Ministry Team seeks to keep the vision and possibility of Just Peace alive in our church, our community and the world. This means to us that we work toward a world in which human interactions and conflicts are characterized by nonviolence and move toward a just society, locally and globally.peace-demo

To further this intent we have offered a variety of programs over the past years. We co-sponsor a twice monthly prayer vigil against weaponized drones with Grace Episcopal Church, organize an annual open community remembrance of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, presented a Family Peace Concert, sponsored talks by local peace activist Paki Wieland, and worked together with Grace Church members to meet with Congressman Jim McGovern about our petition for a Department of Peace. We also hosted a forum about criminal justice reform in Massachusetts.

We are one of many churches within the United Church of Christ to have committed to being Just Peace churches in harmony with the Just Peace resolution reaffirmed at the Synod in 2015. We seek to join our efforts with other UCC churches, with other faith communities, and with secular peace and justice groups in order to have a stronger voice.

We invite people to join us. We meet 4 to 6 times a year, as needed. Please contact Katie Tolles at : tolleskatie@gmail.com or 413 259 1357.
