Interested in Exploring Scripture? All you need is a Bible (the more different translations in the room, the better) and your own life experience. Tom Lindeman, convenor, is responsible to bring current scholarly comment where appropriate. We discover together that scripture is not an answer book. In fact, it is more accurate to describe it as a question book, since all the big questions about life are raised, and a variety of responses proposed. You are free to identify with the response you like the best, and enter into the ongoing conversation which began millennia ago. As you listen to others, and explore both scripture and your own experience, you will discover new possibilities. We are reading currently the Book of Exodus, but tracking themes and counter-themes throughout the books of the Bible, and beyond. We meet on Mondays, 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the Hawley room at First Church.
