The Adult Fellowship was formed in 1988 by Justin and Peggy Hartman. Its members have been attending faithfully for the last twenty years. The members have been taking turns filling the two leadership roles of Program and Hospitality. The programs have been presented by both members and people from the communities surrounding Amherst.
The topics are varied every meeting, but include such things as travel logs, life experiences, information from schools, hospitals and other points of interest. Every meeting starts with refreshments made by the members, and we sit around tables of four with tablecloths and centerpieces provided by the hosts and/or hostesses. The attendance at each meeting is between twenty-four to thirty-two people.
The annual dues are two dollars per family to cover the cost of postage on the postcards which are sent out every month to those not in attendance in church the week before the meeting. There is very little other expense for the Adult Fellowship. All the members of Adult Fellowship are very supportive of each other. Meeting every month gives ample opportunity for people to get to know what is going on with the others in the group. The group welcomes the diverse membership interests.
